The new 64,000 square foot, £12 million office development is already taking shape on the site of the former St James’ railway station in the heart of Cheltenham through the efforts of Barnwood Construction. The project is the latest addition to the site which already houses Waitrose and abuts the Honeybourne Line. The first new build office development in Cheltenham for many years, the Formal Investments project will provide Grade A office space. The steel-framed building has been designed by Roberts Limbrick who were involved with the new Princess Royal stand at the Cheltenham Racecourse and is being managed by Gleeds.
Barnwood are now starting to progress with the external envelope on the project and have elected to use mast climber access to the entire perimeter of the project as this gives tremendous access and programme benefits. Whilst mastclimbers are common place on larger city projects the access system has not been greatly used within the Cheltenham area.
RICS Matrics Gloucestershire have been given the opportunity to see behind the scenes under the care of Barnwood Construction to take a glimpse at what promises to be an exceptional site. Places are limited so act fast to avoid missing out.
Please note: PPE is required for this site visit and we ask that you provide your own. Safety boots will be required.
Attendees should meet on the pedestrian area leading to Waitrose car park
