The Port of Dover kindly invite all RICS UK South East members for a site visit to the Port’s flagship Dover Western Docks Revival (DWDR) development.
From FreeBook now
The £250 million DWDR development is the single biggest investment ever undertaken by the Port and represents the next exciting evolution of the Port, delivering long-term capacity for a key international gateway handling trade to the value of £122bn representing up to 17% of UK trade in goods.
The revival of the western part of the Port estate supports the developing destination agenda for Dover, being identified as the key catalyst for the wider regeneration of area. It will deliver valuable employment opportunities both during construction and on completion of the new cargo facility.
With a contract value of £115m, VSBW are currently delivering the marine structures and bridge contract. This construction stage includes the design and build of two new berths including quay walls and land reclamation, a new marina pier, the marina curve, navigation channel and new lock gates, Bascule Bridge and capital dredging work.
The agenda of the site visit will be confirmed to attendees at a later date but will likely include:
Please note Safety site induction and PPE kit-out (safety shoes are not provided but are necessary for admission)*
As part of our 150-year anniversary in 2018, we want to highlight our public interest responsibility and the value of the surveying profession in developing influential solutions to society’s challenges in the UK.
Our fundraising programme will enable our partners LandAid to fund the provision of 150 bed spaces across all 12 RICS UK regions. RICS professionals will also have the opportunity to register their interest to provide pro bono support to local front line charities.
For this event we are requesting a minimum donation of £20.00 per person to secure your place. When donating please complete the ‘Personalise Your Donation’ boxes so that we know you have donated and ensure your donation is not anonymous. Thank you from everyone at RICS and LandAid.
