The current climate has seen more constraints put on the Private Rented Sector. Government has proposed a letting agency fees ban, and a requirement for all letting and managing agents to undertake continuing professional development and training. RICS is in the process of developing a mandatory regulatory framework applying to all landlords and letting agents, setting a minimum level of service provision on which the market can depend. A new independent regulator responsible for the working practices of agents will be given strong powers of enforcement for those who break the rules – and agents who fail to comply will not be permitted to trade. Criminal sanctions could also be brought in for those who severely breach the code.
With renewed focus on the practices of the Agency and Lettings sector and a number of new regulatory developments, RICS is pleased to announce the Residential Landlord & Tenant Essential Update. This series of half-day seminars is packed with all the crucial information lettings and management agents need to ensure they remain compliant and up to date with current legislation and avoid costly sanctions. Don’t miss your opportunity to hear from our expert speaker panel on these key issues and benefit from the chance to have your questions answered.
