The power station sits in the middle of the Dungeness National Nature Reserve, a Special Protection Area (SPA) and a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) on the Kent coast. RICS Pledge 150 Campaign

As part of our 150 year celebrations we are attempting to run 150 site visits/tours in 2018. Instead of charging a fee to attend these events, we are asking you to donate to the RICS Pledge 150 campaign. Please book the usual way and then visit the South East dontation page - we would suggest a donation of £20. In donating, you are supporting our 150th year celebrations and target to raise £2.25m for LandAid.  Thank you from everyone at RICS and LandAid.

Please note tours are subject to the following standards;

  • Visitors must be aged 18 or over and must bring with them photographic ID (Passport or Driving Licence).
  • Safety is our number 1 priority and EDF Energy operates a zero tolerance policy on drugs and alcohol across ALL sites.  All visitors are therefore required to comply with this policy.
  • Dungeness is an operational industrial site and visitors will be required to use Personal Protective Equipment (safety hat, ear defenders, safety glasses, gloves & a high visibility jacket) when on tour.
  • ALL visitors must adhere to the following dress code & wear;

        Footwear must cover the entire foot – suitable footwear includes flat, secure, laced up boots, or training shoes with grip on the sole (not ballet pumps).

Only full length trousers(without tears/holes) must be worn – leggings, skirts or shorts are not permitted (ankles must be covered)!

All long hair must be tied up and loose items of jewellery, eg hooped earrings, bracelets, neck chains removed.

Dungeness is on the coast and a suitable coat is recommended as it can get cold/windy/wet.

  • We operate an empty pocket policy for all tours and no chewing gum on tour.
  • No personal bags or belongings are allowed on these tours. We have very limited locker facilities only suited to storage of car keys & passport/driving licences.
  • Please only bring photo id and keys for storage – all mobiles, bags etc should be kept in your car.
  • Prohibited items not allowed on site include all types of photographic equipment, mobile phones/radios, wireless devices, computing equipment, weapons, smart devices, fitness bands, alcohol, non-prescription drugs.
  • (Any essential medication required to be taken on tour must be approved by Security & carried by Station guides).  These must be declared to Security before the tour can commence.
  • Your tour will begin with a pre-tour brief.  This will include information on our emergency and security procedures, a security protocol briefing, ID verification checks and a security search prior to entering site.
  • The tour is 1.5 hours in duration and approximately 1.5 miles long. Please be aware that there are some areas of height including a number of stairs and a lift that will be used during the tour.
  • Access/egress for site plant tours are via a Security turnstile.  Any mobility issues must be declared before you arrive on site to ensure we can accommodate you safely on tour.
  • Please ensure all medical conditions/special needs have been brought to our attention in advance of your confirmed tour date.

These standards are for your safety and well-being. Failure to comply with them will result in you not being able to join your group on the tour.

The tour will begin promptly at 13:30 so please ensure you arrive in plenty of time. You may like to arrive early to have a look around the interactive exhibition in the visitor centre. Parking is available on site and you will be required to report to the visitor centre reception for the start of the tour.

Registration for this tour will close at 5pm on Friday 23 March 2017, unless fully booked before this date. Spaces are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.
