This couse is aimed at those professionals in the industry who find themselves managing small to medium-sized projects, such as asset managers, facilities and operations managers, client-side project managers and building owners.

It covers the essential stages of a typical project from establishment, engagement, determining the project brief/client scope through to the necessary processes to achieve practical completion. The course will touch on managing the timeline and program, and procurement options.

Its main focus is on the essential communication processes throughout the project (requests for information, minuting site meetings, monitoring variations and the essential steps for practical completion and  defects liability), while monitoring construction quality and occupational health and safety during the works.

  • Contract Administration — typical documentationRecording flow of information, (RFIs, Managing Variations, Site meetings and minutes), Monitoring construction quality, Construction OH&S, Practical Completion and Sign off/commissioning/warranties, Defects Liability Period.


The course is presented by Jude Knott MRICS, the Director of JCK Consulting Pty Ltd, Chartered Building Surveyor, Building Consultant & Project Manager, who has 30 year experience of managing projects of various sizes and property types - including refurbishment and fit out as well as new build projects -  both in Sydney and London.

Jude has been involved over the years in various RICS publications and presentations including contributing to the writing the pre and post project management workbooks for the NSW Federation of Housing Associations.
