Alexander Rangel
Founder and CEO

Alex is the founder and CEO of Ravti. He drives the company's vision, strategy and growth as it provides software to track, manage, and purchase HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning) for sophisticated commercial real estate clients.  Ravti has been a proud member of the prestigious Silicon Valley accelerator, Y Combinator (S14), and MetaProp NYC (2016).  Alex received his Engineering from the University of Florida and began his career as a sales engineer with Trane for 5 years before starting Ravti. 

Colin Johnston, FRICS
President, RVA, Canada, Research, Valuation & Advisory
Altus Group Limited

Colin Johnston is the President of Altus Group's Research, Valuation and Advisory division, in Canada, a group comprised of over 380 appraisers, economists, planners, advisors and data scientists. Altus is a leading provider of independent software, data solutions and consulting services to the commercial real estate industry.  During his 25 plus years in the industry, Colin has become one of the country's pre-eminent valuation and advisory professionals, with a particular emphasis on investment grade assets.  Over the past year, Altus has valued assets totalling in excess of $240 Billion in the Canadian marketplace. Colin has spoken on numerous panels, written several papers on valuation, and served as an expert witness in rental arbitration cases. He is an active member of several industry associations, a designated member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AACI) and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS).

Darren Cash, MRICS
Regional Director, Eastern Canada
BTY Group

Darren is the Regional Director, Eastern Canada for BTY Group, a global infrastructure and development consultant firm with offices in North America, Europe and the Middle East. He was born in Manchester, UK and studied Economics at Lancaster University and then went on to complete a Masters Degree in Construction Cost Management at the University of Reading.
As BTY’s Regional Director, Darren leads BTY’s pursuit of services in both the private and public sectors and specialises in providing Cost Management, Risk Management and Project Monitoring services in sectors such as transit, aviation, healthcare, education, data and telecommunications and mixed-use.

Gareth David, MRICS
Chief Estimator
PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. 

Gareth is the Chief Estimator for PCL Constructors Westcoast in Vancouver, BC and has been with the PCL family of companies since February 2008.  Gareth previously worked as a Quantity Surveyor for Carillion and Turner & Townsend in the UK.
Gareth achieved his Bachelor of Science with Honours, Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying from Loughborough University in the UK.  He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and the BC Chapter Chair for the RICS.

Hugh J. Roberts
Associate Vice President

Hugh is Arcadis’ national Urban and Coastal Resiliency leader. Hugh and the Arcadis team focus on a range of water management challenges, including coastal restoration and protection, urban flooding and connectivity, and the integration of climate change considerations into planning and design. His experience includes leading roles in resiliency and risk mitigation studies across the US, from Boston to San Francisco.

Jameson Peterson
Head of Construction Solutions
Voyage Control

Jameson leads the Global Construction Solutions team at Voyage Control, with a goal of helping the world’s largest and most forward thinking General Contractors, Developers, and Owners minimize operational inefficiencies at their project sites. He joined Voyage Control in 2016 and has experience working in the logistics and energy industries with a focus of bringing new tech to large projects and facilities. He has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston.

Jim Moran, FRICS

Jim joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2001 as Managing Director.  Currently, he is an Executive Managing Director and was recently appointed Chief Strategy Officer of the Valuation & Advisory group.  In addition, Jim oversees acquisition and strategic alliance opportunities in the Americas.   He is also the Chair of the Business Practices Committee and has group oversight of compliance and risk management matters.

John McKendrick
Executive Vice President, Project Delivery Social
Infrastructure Ontario

John McKendrick has been with Infrastructure Ontario since its inception in November 2005. Having been an integral part of the major projects division from the outset, he has had the unique opportunity to participate in and drive the evolution of the program.
As the Executive Vice President, Project Delivery Social, John is responsible for the planning, development, and procurement of major public infrastructure projects. His portfolio includes hospitals, colleges, courthouses, a data centre and the Pan Am Games' infrastructure projects.
John came to Infrastructure Ontario with over 17 years of experience in the Provincial government. During that time, he gained expertise in finance and infrastructure project development and delivery. Before joining Infrastructure Ontario, he was an Assistant Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal (now the Ministry of Infrastructure).
John had also served as the Director of the Corporate Finance Branch at the Ontario Financing Authority. During that time, he was involved in the financing of a number of infrastructure projects across various sectors, including asset-based and other financing structures.

Liam Brunner, MRICS

Liam Brunner, AACI, P.App., MRICS, joined Newmark Knight Frank Valuation & Advisory in 2018 as a senior managing director and the Canadian practice leader. Mr. Brunner is responsible for building NKF’s valuation and advisory practice throughout Canada through staff recruitment and acquisitions. He also serves as the national lead for business development and platform execution. Mr. Brunner brings to NKF more than 20 years of experience providing real estate valuation and advisory services to a broad range of clients located throughout Canada.

Prior to NKF, Mr. Brunner served for a little more than six years as a partner in Deloitte’s Financial Advisory practice in Calgary, where he led the firm’s real estate valuation practice nationally and was responsible for consulting and advisory for Western Canada. In this position, Mr. Brunner worked with his team to provide real estate valuation and advisory services for a wide range of special-purpose and investment-grade property classes. He also provided his considerable valuation and advisory expertise to some of Canada’s leading real estate companies and corporations.

M. Barden Prisant, FRICS, FRSA
President and Founder
International Art Advisors

M. Barden Prisant, FRICS, FRSA, was honored to have been named an Eminent Professional Fellow of the RICS in 2002. He became active in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut Tri-State Chapter and was made Chair five years later. In the intervening years, he has served on his Global Professional Group Board and the RICS Americas Valuation Council. In the public realm, he was appointed to NYC zoning boards in Manhattan and Brooklyn by New York City Borough Presidents and City Council members. He is president and founder of Manhattan-based International Art Advisors.

Mark Romoff

The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP)

Mark Romoff is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP).  Established in 1993, CCPPP’s mission is to promote smart, innovative approaches to infrastructure development and service delivery through public-private partnerships with all levels of government. Previously, Mark was founding President and CEO of the Ontario Centres of Excellence, Canada’s leading innovation, technology commercialization and entrepreneurship development organization. Over his twenty five year career with the government of Canada, Mark served as Executive Director in the Department of Industry and as a senior diplomat in the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (Global Affairs Canada), serving in Nigeria, Mexico, Malaysia, Japan and the United States.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Canadian Public Television Association (PBS-WNED); the i-CANADA Governors Council; the Québec City Conference; the World Economic Forum “Strategic Infrastructure Initiative” Advisory Committee; and is Vice-Chair of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Working Party on Public-Private Partnerships Governing Council. He has also been appointed Chairperson of the Canadian Smart Cities Challenge Jury. He earned a Bachelor of Science from McGill University, a Masters in Applied Science from the University of Waterloo, and is a graduate of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government Senior Executives Program and the Directors Education Program of the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors and holds the ICD.D (Certified Director) designation. Mark is also a recipient of the 2012 Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Michael P. Hedden, FRICS
Houlihan Lokey

Michael Hedden is a Director in the Financial Advisory Services practice of Houlihan Lokey Financial Advisors, Inc. in New York.  Mr. Hedden has over 40 years of real estate appraisal, valuation and consulting experience and specializes in providing valuation, litigation support, and expert testimony services in all aspects of market analysis and valuation of real property.  He has been teaching for over 25 years and has authored many articles and given countless lectures and presentations on the topics of real estate valuation. Mr. Hedden has an undergraduate degree in business and masters in city and regional planning.

Robert Courteau

An accomplished senior executive, Robert has extensive experience in leading new business initiatives and achieving growth objectives with some of the world’s foremost companies. He has been an active board member of numerous North American not-for-profit organizations and several publicly-traded companies. Robert has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University where he was also the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate. In recognition of his commitment to education and endorsement of international standards and regulation, Robert was awarded an Honorary Fellowship with RICS. 

S. Michael Brooks, FRICS

Michael is the Chief Executive Officer of REALPAC, the senior Canadian trade association for large public and institutional investment real estate companies. REALPAC represents the Canadian investment real estate industry in government relations, public relations and standard setting. Michael has represented the Canadian real estate industry in all major policy initiatives with government, including property tax reform in several provinces, the emergence of real estate investment trusts and enabling legislation, real property income tax issues, telecom deregulation and building access, and many other issues. Michael is also the Author and Editor of the Canadian textbook "Canadian Commercial Real Estate: Theory, Practice, Strategy”.

Sean Tompkins

Sean has been Chief Executive of RICS since 1st September 2010.  RICS is the world’s largest professional body covering land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. RICS operates out of 30 offices around the world and today over 100,000 people hold its professional qualifications.

Sean has transformed RICS from a traditional, trusted UK mark of professionalism built on high standards and ethics to one of international recognition, influence and thought leadership.  From Governments to Financial Institutions, RICS’ standards, qualifications and thought leadership are respected and recognised.

As well as advancing RICS’ strategy and goals, Sean is also a passionate champion for greater diversity and inclusion within the profession.

Zak Schwarzman

Zak Schwarzman leads MetaProp’s venture capital arm, investing in high-growth PropTech startups that are transforming the way we conceptualize, utilize, build, transact, interact with, and manage physical space. Zak manages MetaProp’s investment activities and works closely with portfolio companies to move their businesses forward. Zak’s investment experience spans seed, multi-stage and corporate venture capital and he is an active member of New York’s startup community. Zak received an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and a B.A. in Political Economy and Business from Tulane University.
