Belt and Road Initiative oversea technical visit: Kazahkstan & Uzebekistan

This 11-day overseas visit to Kazahkstan and Uzebekistan will present delegates with first-hand understanding of the planning and execution of construction projects in these two countries.

The Belt and Road Initiative has led to an increase in volume and average dollar value of construction and infrastructure projects in European and Asian countries. A-grade commercial projects, hotel or leasing projects in these countries are also moving and growing rapidly.

This RICS-exclusive overseas visit to Kazahkstan and Uzebekistan will present delegates with a first-hand understanding of the planning and execution of construction projects in these two countries, the demand of surveying professional services, and opportunities for chartered surveyors from Belt and Road projects.

Activities being planned include:

  • Inspection visits to key development projects in Astana (Kazahkstan) and Tashkent (Uzebekistan).
  • Engagement meetings with commercial organisations operating in Kazahkstan and Uzebekistan.
  • Engagement meetings with central and local governments of officials.
  • City tours in Almaty and Astana (Kazahkstan), Tashkent and Samarkand (Uzebekistan).
  • All activities will be conducted in English and Mandarin, with Cantonese as supplement.

Tour itinerary

Friday 1 Jun

  • Hong Kong to Almaty (KC930: 0945/1440)
  • Almaty: city tour (Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen, Ascension  Cathedral, Museum of national music instrument, Green Bazzar, Medeo, Kok-Tobe, Museum of Almaty, Republic Square)

Sunday 3 Jun

  • Almaty to Astana (KC853: 1140/1325)
  • Astana: engagement meetings, site inspection, city tour (Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, Baiterek Tower, Green Water Boulevard)

Tuesday 5 Jun

  • Astana to Tashkent (KC952: 0900/1040)
  • Tashkent: site inspection, city tour (Khasti Imam complex, Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum, Barak Khan Madrassah, State Museum of Applied Arts)

Thursday 7 Jun

  • Tashkent to Samarkand
  • Samarkand: city tour (Mausoleum Guri Emir, Registan Square, Bibi Khanum Mosque, Shakh-i-Zinda, Ulugbek Observatory)

Saturday 9 Jun

  • Samarkand to Tashkent

Sunday 10 Jun

  • Tashkent to Almaty (KC128: 1420/1650)

Monday 11 Jun

  • Almaty to Hong Kong (KC929: 0015/0805)

Additional information

    • Accommodation in four-star hotels with breakfast only.
    • Excursions with English-speaking guide and Hong Kong tour leader.
    • All transfer and excursion entrance fees and ecological fees mentioned on itinerary.
    • International and domestic flights as stated on itinerary (economy class only).
    • Local transportation from arrival to local airport till departure.
    • Group travel insurance.
    • Mineral water: 1 litre per person, per day.
    • Uzbekistan visa application fee for HKSAR passport holders. HKSAR passport holders are exempted from Kazahkstan visa.

    Fee do not include:

    • Additional $5,000 (estimation) for lunch and dinner for the whole trip. RICS will reserve the final decision of the meal arrangement.
    • Visa application fee for non-HKSAR passport holders. Please contact Goldjoy Holidays (t: 2863 1134) for details.
    • Expenses not mentioned in itinerary.
    • Personal expenses.
    • Porter fee.
    • Registrations are non-cancellable, non-refundable and non-transferable.
    • Registration is confirmed only upon receipt of completed application form and full tour fee.
    • The tour operates at a minimum capacity of 15 persons. RICS reserves the right to cancel the tour in case of insufficient registrations.
    • Refund policy refers to the refund regulation of TIC.


Registration and payment must be made by postal-mail.

Please complete the registration form and return it, plus a cheque for the full tour fee payable to RICS International Limited and passport, to Edith Tang or Esther Lai at RICS office at 3707 Hopewell Centre, 183 Queen’s Road Central, Wanchai.

Your registration form and payment must reach our office before 4:00pm on 25 April 2018.

Upon confirmation, delegates must provide valid travel documentation by Tuesday 2 May 2018 for visa application by the travel agency. Passports will be retained for three weeks.
