Overview

Hong Kong has one of the world’s most unique retail environments with its rapid turnover rate, skyrocketing rents, high population density, and relative reluctance to embrace ecommerce. All these aspects converge to create a rich business landscape for entrepreneurs and property professionals alike.

Our presenter, Mr Baldwin Ko, will share his views with us on:

  • new opportunities for retail, F&B businesses and shopping centres.
  • Greater Bay Area opportunities.
  • the reliance on mainland Chinese tourism.
  • the balance between online and offline.

Following the presentation, there will be a panel discussion featuring industry experts.

Meet the speaker:

Mr Baldwin Ko, Retail Business Development Director, Hong Kong & Macao, L'Oréal Hong Kong Limited

After graduating with a Master’s degree in real estate in Sydney, Baldwin returned to Hong Kong in 1996 where he worked in commercial real estate for over 10 years at Swire Properties and AIG Global Real Estate Investment respectively. As an entrepreneur, Baldwin has explored the chocolate industry and quickly expanded a new brand under the agnès b. umbrella to include 23 chocolate boutiques in Hong Kong and Taipei.

In 2013, Baldwin moved on from chocolate to found his own company, MRB Concepts, a dining and retail concept creator and operator, franchiser and franchisee of F&B brands, and OEM of customised F&B gifts. He was the managing director of MRB Group Limited, a dining and retail concept creator and operator, with outlets across Hong Kong before joining L'Oréal Hong Kong Limited.
