Under the Buildings Ordinance (BO), a Registered General Building Contractor (RGBC) or a Registered Specialist Contractor (RSC) should provide continuous supervision for carrying out building or street works in accordance with the Safety Supervision Plan. Every Registered Contractor (RC) must appoint authorised representatives to act for the purposes of the BO, and the appointed representative is commonly known as the “Authorized Signatory” (AS).
