Laurence Cobb is a consultant and International Head of Construction & Engineering. He specialises in construction and engineering law; with considerable experience in dealing with dispute management for all forms of projects, ranging from traditional building contracts to complex infrastructure schemes, both national and international. Laurence advises clients in mediation, litigation, adjudication, arbitration and expert determination, as well as during negotiated settlements and in meeting pre-action requirements.
He advises a broad range of clients from large corporations to small contractors, local authorities, employers, sub-contractors, members of the professional team and public bodies on wide ranging matters.
Recent projects include residential, commercial and industrial developments in the UK, multi-party mediations, international disputes and numerous adjudications including jurisdiction and enforcement issues.
Laurence is a member of the Society of Construction Law and writes articles for the construction press and lectures to industry bodies and clients. He is referred to as an expert in both Chambers and Legal 500 Directories. He was educated at King Edward VII School, Lytham, Manchester University and Chester Law College.
Daniel Hutchings is a Senior Associate in the Construction and Engineering group specialising in contentious construction and engineering advice. Daniel has represented a broad range of interest groups, from employers, contractors, sub-contractors, and funding institutions. Daniel’s experience ranges across a number of sectors including construction, energy, oil and gas, telecommunications, hotels, and healthcare. Daniel's experience includes:
Daniel has also presented seminars on suites of contracts to Bouygues, London Underground and Balfour Beatty and lectured at the ICE on statutory regulation of construction contracts and agreements.
William Godwin QC was legal member of the FIDIC Updates Task Group responsible for drafting the 2017 (2nd) editions of the Red, Yellow and Silver Books. He is a specialist construction and engineering lawyer (Queen’s Counsel) at 3 Hare Court barristers’ chambers in London and much of his work involves cross border projects. William has extensive experience of acting as counsel in international arbitrations and sits as an arbitrator and adjudicator. He writes and speaks regularly on construction and arbitration law and is the author of International Construction Contracts: a Handbook (Wiley Blackwell 2013) which includes a commentary on the FIDIC contractor-design forms.
Erwin Hanslik is CEE Head of the Real Estate & Infrastructure, the Environment, Public & Regulatory as well as the Energy and the Hotels & Leisure group.
