Programme overview

This half-day course is designed to equip property professionals or anyone who has no or little knowledge in property valuation and market assessment to recognise the purpose of valuations, the importance of cash flow timings, and how to improve property value through active management.

Meet the trainer

Professor SR. DR. Ting Kien Hwa

Chartered Surveyor, Registered Valuer & Registered Estate Agent

Professor Sr Dr. Ting Kien Hwa is currently the Head of Centre for Real Estate Research (CORE Research), Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam, Malaysia. He is also the Vice President of the Malaysian Institute of Professional Property Managers (MMIPPM), Academic Member of Asia Public Real Estate Association (APREA), a Board member of the Pacific Rim Real Estate Society, RICS Malaysia Board member (2012-2018), a Council member of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (2011-2016) and a member of the NAPREC Expert Panel (INSPEN).

He is the external examiner for the MSc in Real Estate Programme in Universiti Malaya, Property Degree programmes in Tunku Abdul Rahman Universiti College (TAR UC) and LJMU/Imperia Institute of Technology. In September 2016, Prof. Dr. Ting is appointed as Visiting Professor in Real Estate Investment of Henley Business School, University of Reading Malaysia, Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Prof. Dr. Ting is an established researcher on Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). He was invited by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the Management Boards of TA Global Bhd and Lembaga Kemajuan Pahang Tenggara to present papers on REITs.

He is the lead trainer/speaker for UiTM/Sime Darby Property Bhd’s Executive Diploma programme in Property Investment and Asset Management on Strategic Planning, Property Investment, Property Portfolio Management and Exit Strategies.
