Meet the trainer

Phillip Tan Chee Yang, 5D BIM Manager at Perunding Kos T & K Sdn Bhd

Phillip learnt his trade as a quantity surveyor in Melbourne, Australia. He has completed a Bachelor degree in Environments, majored in construction and obtained a Masters degree in Construction Management, specialising in cost consultancy from the University of Melbourne. His focus during this academic period has been in the maximisation of productivity in quantity surveying and construction.

Integrating his knowledge in BIM with quantity surveying experience in Australia and Malaysia, his time in PKT has been spent on improving the current BIM systems, and spreading awareness of the methods of execution and benefits of BIM to all parties in the construction industry supply chain: clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers.

During this time, PKT has fully implemented BIM across all working levels within the company, with all PKT staff now being fully conversant with the technologies and its benefits. Phillip has spread his knowledge of BIM during construction stages for construction management, and coordination and clash detection, which has been implemented across various projects throughout Malaysia.
