Meet the speakers

Mr James Ding Tse Wen, FSIArb, MMSAdj, ACIArb

JAMES DING is a partner of C. H. Tay & Partners (Kuala Lumpur) and is an active legal practitioner for the past 12 years in litigation, arbitration and in recent years, adjudication. After reading law at the University of Sheffield, James was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn). Subsequently, he was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2006.

James has a diverse legal practice covering both civil and commercial matters, with a focus on construction law. He sits on the panel of arbitrators and adjudicators under the Asian International Arbitration Centre (formerly known as the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration). He holds a Masters in Law from the University of Malaya and a Masters in Science in Construction Contract Management from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

James is Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Member of the Malaysian Society of Adjudicators. He is also the Hon. Treasurer of the Malaysian Society of Adjudicators and Treasurer of the Young Members Group of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Malaysia branch).

Mr Edward Lee Siew Mun, FCIArb MMSAdj

Edward started as a Quantity Surveyor for civil and building works. He is involved in major infrastructure for dam construction, water works, marine reclamation and railway track works. In 2012, he was engaged in KVMRT Line 1 (Design, Procure and Construct for Underground Stations and Tunnel). His involvement in the project including but not limited to contract commercial procurement, construction and project management including negotiating and settlement of the contractual claims.

Edward now is a partner to Contract Solution-i (Malaysia) providing multi-disciplinary dispute resolution practice to the construction industry.

Edward obtained his law degree in 2013 and continue with International Arbitration training and examination conducted by Charted Institute of Arbitration (CIArb). He obtained his fellowship to CIArb and empaneled into AIAC as Adjudicator in 2014 and as Arbitrator in 2017. Currently, he is under assessment from Persatuan Arkitek Malaysia (PAM) to empanel as Arbitrator under PAM rules.

Edward is also a speaker and trainer for in-house training and liaise with external professional body and practitioner for conducting, certifying and provide training for in-house training programme in relation to CIPAA and construction claims.
